Hello All! I could kick myself! I've been procrastinating on finding out about Kenwood Academy Class of 88' 20th year reunion and when I finally get my head out of the sand.....I find out that the reunion is this weekend! Damn Homies! I attended our 10th back in 98' and it seems like yesterday! I was really looking forward to attending this one.....I'm in Africa on assignment right now (Career Army Dude) but if I had known, I could have planned better and would have taken leave. I really don't keep in touch with anyone from our class that could have told me about this event. I've been out the net since I entered the Army right after graduation 20 yrs ago! I have been from one end of this world to the other. I do keep in touch with Efrem Yarber (I guess he didn't know either or I know he would have shot me a e-mail). Oh well, sucks to be me! I hope everyone has a great time and I plan on keeping in touch with my classmates from this day forward! So if you remember me, or you don't and just want to reach out to a brotha.....hit me back! I haven't signed on in a while, but I had to take a break from my work scheule after hearing the bad news that not only has the reunion schedule been revamped due to low registration, but that now we R facing the possibility of not even having a 20 year reunion. Concerning the price for the weekend.....a couple of months ago we put out a poll asking everyone what they would feel comfortable spending. The majority of people voted for $200, so we proceeded based off of that. We could have easily put together a mediocre weekend for say $150. Other '88 class reunions are in the same price range as well. The weekend cost pays for the mixer, dinner, picnic, gift bag and other miscellaneous expenses. We're working hard to put together a weekend that will be classy and memorable!

In order to get a group rate most hotels downtown require you to sign a contract and book at least 10 rooms upfront. Let us know if you definitely think you will need hotel accommodations. I want to say HI to all those that have checked in since I first signed in. I see 3 more VERY familiar names since my post. HIya Michelle!!!! HIya Ann!! HIya Alma!! Do y'all remember me? I am really hoping to be at that reunion, but due to financial constraints, it just may not be possible. I was place on Social Security Disability in 1989 and have been on it ever since. It doesn't pay all that well either... funny, huh? LOL Who would think that.... nevermind... hehe ;) My husband and I are starting now to save money for next summer so we are staying hopeful that we will not only have the funds, but that I will also stay healthy enough for the trip. My husband will be coming with me especially since he is getting paid by the state to take care of me. He is like my own personal seeing eye dog! LOL Not as obediant though! :/ I really have to work on that! LOL Talk to y'all soon! ..... and please feel free to call me Tink these days. (Tink for Tinkerbelle...my MySpace page might help clear thigs up). People just started calling me Tinkerbelle little while ago due to my attitude, spirit and size. Hey, hey, hey! I went to Kenwood in 2004 and bought a gym t-shirt from one of the gym teachers. I no longer wear a small but I can finally fill the shirt out. :-)
Why not sell the red Kenwood sweats to raise sone funds? I know I would love to have a pair of sweatpants and a zip up hoodie. Even better, print some baby and children's t-shirts so our Alumni who have kids can purchase them for their little ones.
